Overview

La Cañada Unified School District (LCUSD) has just one high school – La Cañada High School (LCHS.) Established in 1963, La Cañada High serves the roughly 4,000 students in most of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.1 LCHS has an enrollment of 1,372 students as of 2021 and serves grades 9 through 12 and is a traditional public secondary school, meaning it accepts all students who live within its geographic boundaries, as distinguished from charter and magnet public high schools that have selective enrollment criteria. LCHS is also a National Blue Ribbon School, having last won the award in 2015, and a California Distinguished School, having last won that award in 2021.

LCHS’s math department as of the 2022-23 school year offers 13 mathematics courses in grades 9 through 12: 11 high school courses and 2 college courses through its dual-enrollment agreement with Pasadena City College.
